Toshiba Smart Pad Gets Leaked

You might have heard that Toshiba was preparing an Android tablet called the Smart Pad. Well, it seems like we can finally see how this tablet will actually look like, because the Italian website Notebook Italia published some leaked photos of the said device, which give us a few pointers as to what this slate will pack and what it'll offer in terms of connectivity.

The 10-inch capacitive touchscreen Smart Pad looks fairly similar to the Apple iPad, or it might even remind you of the Compal tablet seen at CES, either way it seems sleek and elegant. The tablet will be running Android, of course, although at this time, there is no news regarding the version installed, but we're hoping to see at least Android 2.1 in there.

The tablet will feature an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, a webcam situated on the top, great for video calls, and plenty of ports for more convenience, including HDMI, USB, mini-USB, docking ports and a memory card reader. There are four touch buttons on the right, which provide access to essential functions. No other specs are available for the time being.

Toshiba's Android slate looks promising, at least it boasts a chic design, so we'll have to wait and see how well it performs. Its release is scheduled for this fall, by the end of October, hopefully with an updated version of Android installed. We'll keep you posted with the latest details regarding the device. Feel free to check out the source link for more leaked photos.
