The UX21 is clad in an aluminum alloy shell that has a unique 'spun' finish; the UX Series has a number of impressive features, including 2nd generation Intel Core mobile processors, including the powerful i7. ASUS claims that the Ultrabook has up to 7-hour battery charge and an Instant-On feature where the laptop can resume in 2 seconds from sleep mode. At its thickest, the ASUS UX21 is a mere 17mm and weighs 1,100g. Further to this the laptop also features a SATA III SSD and USB 3.0 connectivity.

Sean Maloney, Intel’s Corporation Executive Vice President speaking about the Ultrabook at Computex said that the performance and capabilities of today’s laptops have tablet-like features and deliver a highly responsive and secure experience, in a thin, light and elegant design. The ASUS UX21 Ultrabook is expected to be launched by September and with its slim design and impressive attributes we are sure it will pose some worthy competition for the MacBook Air.

Computex 2011: Acer Gives a Sneak Peek into its W4 Smartphone

At the ongoing tech fair, Computex 2011, Acer showed off a mere glimpse of its Microsoft Mango-based smartphone, the W4. Acer unlike its usual behavior just managed to share a distanced look of its latest product since the company still awaited Microsoft to release more bits of the Mango OS.

Acer promised to begin the volume production of the W4 in the fourth quarter of this year. Till then, W4’s performance will go through several more modulations. For now, the little information Acer did manage to let out was that the W4 will run a Qualcomm MSN8255 chip at 1GHz. The smartphone comes with five megapixel, auto focus camera and does look enticing with a 3.6-inch display. In addition to this, the W4 is Wi-Fi enabled, with 8GB worth of internal flash memory.

Although, this bit may just seem a teaser for most, a late 2011 launch would mean a couple of more of these teasers dotted around the rest of the year

Alcatel Ice 3 launches the OT 806D Handset

Alcatel, in partnership with Ice 3 have recently unveiled the OT 806D mobile handset in India. The main highlight of this mobile is that it is a radiation free handset. Another important feature of this handset is that it has a touch, as well as QWERTY keypad. Speaking at the launch of this mobile handset, Mr. M.S. Malik, Managing Director, Ice Mobile said that there is a growing public concern bout adverse health effects due to EMF radiation. In the human body due to the close proximity of a mobile phone to the head, the head is the targeted recipient of the electro-magnetic energy from many wireless systems whose impulses are transmitted to other organs and parts, causing serious health hazards and it is important to safeguard against that.

Intel and Asus unveil 'ultrabook' laptop-tablet hybrid Ivy Bridge chipset coming early 2012

the-asus-ux21-is-the-first-ultrabook-apparently
Intel has revealed its latest laptop-based chip plans over at Computex, putting the emphasis on low power and skinny looks in order to claw back some share from the tablet market.
The term Intel has coined for this 'new' category is 'Ultrabook', which we've already reported to the hyperbole police and expect the chip maker to be hauled into the exaggeration station along with Steve 'Magical' Jobs and HTC any minute now.
Although no official Ultrabook products have been unveiled, Intel's executive vice president, Sean Maloney, reckons they "will make up 40 per cent of the market by the end of 2012."
A bridge too far
It's all thanks to the 22nm Ivy Bridge chipset, which will be a diminuitive 0.8-inches thick and provide faster responses and 'tablet-like features'.
If it wants to hit 40 per cent of the consumer market, Intel better keep the pricing of the Ivy Bridge chips manageable, pointing to a sub $1,000 price point to be getting on with.
Intel has been getting all cosy with Asus to show off the first ultrabook, imaginatively dubbed the UX21 Asus Ultrabook, which runs the latest 2nd gen Intel Core processor aka Sandy Bridge, and looks a lot like a MacBook Air to us.
The first of these ultrabooks will ready and raring to go for the 2011 Christmas shopping season, while the Ivy Bridge chips should make their way to computers in the early part of 2012.

must watch LG GD910 Watch Phone

As mobile technology progresses, we’re making handsets smaller and smaller and as testament to that LG’s GD910 watch phones stands true. If you ever wanted to play spy or Dick Tracy, the super cop, this is one gadget you have got to have, even if it does cost you an arm and a leg. Take a closer look.

Form Factor
The GD910 is a lightweight watch phone at just 84g. Its 1.4-inch touchscreen (capacitive) is very responsive and just large enough to be comfortable to use. The 128 x 160 pixel resolution also makes it clear to view in all lighting conditions. The leather strap is fully adjustable, so it can fit all forearms. It comes with a box full of accessories that includes a charger, USB cable, SIM card remover and of course the Bluetooth headset for calls with its own charger.

A VGA camera is located just above the display. On the side is where the call Take and end keys are placed and in between is a return key. The rear can be easily unlocked to slip in the GSM SIM card. The device sports 2GB of internal memory so you can easily carry your music with you while on the go. The best part about the device is that it’s IPX4 certified water resistant.

The bundled Bluetooth headset was quite comfortable to use and had no issues with voice clarity (incoming and outgoing). It uses a Micro USB port for charging and has a power/lock key slider that’s quite handy.

Features and Performance
Interface

It runs on a Flash UI that’s smooth and easy to navigate. It offers a variety of watch interfaces including analogue styles. Swiping through the menus and accessing settings is a fluid process. Response time is immediate with no lag at all. You can also customize the menus to various styles that you find comfortable. One would assume that typing messages on the small screen would be a problem, but it isn’t. It’ll take no more than a couple of minutes or less to get used to and you’re fingers will be flying across the screen.

Media
The handset offers an image viewer as well as a music player. The biggest problem with the music player is that it will play through the built in speakers and is quite loud, but if you’re looking for privacy, you’ll need a Stereo Bluetooth headset. Audio playback is not supported via the bundled mono headset. This is a concern as it would involve a further investment of at least Rs. 3000 (min). However, audio quality was not bad at via an A2DP headset. A set of EQ presets are also included to help enhance the audio and you can also create a playlist of your favorite tracks right on the device. There’s no video support of nay kind.
