Acer Iconia Tab A100 and A101 Coming to UK on May 14?

If you love the 10-inch Acer Iconia Tab A500, you may be interested to know that the 7-inch model of the tablet will be released soon in the UK. Known as the Acer Iconia Tab A100 – for the WiFi model – and A101 – for the 3G model – they are basically similar to their big brother in most things except for the screen estate.
Amazon UK now has both tabs for pre-order – with the WiFi model being priced at £299 and the other model at £399. Seems cheap? Wait till you convert them to US dollars, which put them at around $490 and $650. That doesn’t seem too bad actually. Here’s what you’ll be getting for that much dough: a 7-inch capacitive screen with a 1024 x 600 resolution, NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-cortex A9 processor running at 1GHz, 512MB of RAM, 2-megapixels front camera, 5-megapixels rear camera with flash, 8GB internal storage, mini HDMI, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi b/g/n and Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

As for the launch date of the Acer Iconia Tab A100 and A101, Amazon UK said that they will ship it to your front door on May 14. At least that’s when the tablets are expected to launch. Not saying that Amazon is a liar, but the company has been wrong before in the past.

No words yet on the release date of the Iconia Tab A100 in the US, but the Iconia Tab A500 has been available to purchase in Best Buy since last month.
