Mahesh Bhatt is a pleased as punch over the social front. Nope, he hasn't suddently turned more socially aggressive and started attending a dozen more "filmi parties", more than what he usually graces hosts with his presence with. Rather, he's ready to scream Murder, er, more appropriately Murder 2 withhappiness. And rightully so, considering that the flick illumining Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez has managed to lure and charm... upwards of three lakh fans and followers on social networking sites! And as Bhatt puts it gleefully… "We're still counting."
Describing his move towards storming the bastion of social networking sites, the irrepressible Bhatt, gifted with the gift of the (acerbic) gab, like none other, asserts that "it was my idea" and that he was "merely moving with the times."
Revealing that each day, the number of fans on the social networking sites were soaring by "around 10 to 20 thousand each day," Bhatt welcomes his "digital natives" heartily.
Bhatt's earlier comment, reportedly describing cinema as an "ageing whore" and television as the "new bitch" had raised collective eyebrows.
"Today, with home theatres, cable TV and smart phones, marketing of films has become all the more important. Be it web chats, voice chats or visiting small towns to promote Murder 2, we are leaving no stone unturned. And if the strategy pays off, we will continue it for all our films in the future."
