Windows Phone 7 security update released—for most

Even as the Windows Phone 7 copy-and-paste update codenamed "NoDo" is being rolled out, Microsoft has started shipping a security update for its smartphone operating system. The fix is for the SSL certificates that were issued by Comodo after one of its resellers was hacked by an Iranian hacker in March.
NoDo is version 7390; the new security update brings the operating system up to version 7392. As might be guessed from the version numbers, this means that the security update includes all the NoDo updates, and so is only available to those network operators that have authorized the NoDo update.
NoDo is now available for almost everyone. AT&T-branded HTC Surrounds are now eligible for the update, and Deutsche Telekom/T-Mobile devices in Europe are also receiving the update. The remaining stragglers are Telefonica in Spain—which is still apparently testing both the February pre-update and NoDo—and Telstra in Australia, though Telstra has authorized the update and is now waiting for Microsoft to release it.
Though the pre-NoDo update first released in February must be installed separately, the cumulative nature of subsequent updates means that those customers not currently on NoDo should only need to install one further update that will be a combination of 7390 and 7392.
Microsoft also explained some of the issues with Samsung handsets that resulted in their updates being halted. Samsung used two different suppliers to provide parts for the Focus, and as a result there are two different models with slightly different flash memory components. Handsets with the original components are receiving the update; handsets with the alternative parts are not. Microsoft didn't specify the exact problem this caused, but it now says that an updated package is nearly ready.
