Android 3.1 update to cover Acer, Asus tablets this June



Google’s announcement of the latest Android 3.1 during I/O indeed egged on Motorola’s stylish and feature-rich Xoom to embrace the upgrade. Now, according to EngadgetAcer and Asus have put hands up to enhance their tablets’ functionality this June by taking advantage of the first major update to Google’s Honeycomb platform.
Apparently, Acer has girded up to merchandise its Iconia Tab A500 with 3.1 next month and upgrade existing units running Android 3.0. Concurrently, Asus has revealed the stated update for its Eee Pad Transformer. Coming to the attractive perks being plopped down, the latest update will be rendering support for USB peripherals and integrate new Movies and Books applications. A variety of refinements have been added as well to make the user interface more intuitive and more efficient to use.

For enhanced multitasking and instant visual access to applications, the Recent Apps list gets expandable. The Android 3.1 also brings resizable homescreen widgets and support for joysticks and gamepads. Developers can even create powerful application experiences on tablets and other large-screen devices.
The new Android 3.1 update will be coming to Acer and Asus tablets in June.
